Capacious, tight udders on a Holstein-Friesian cow

As part of the 2026/27 On-farm solutions funding, which helps farmers boost emissions efficiency, World Wide Sires New Zealand is pleased to announce qualifying farmers can apply for a reimbursement of up to $3000 + GST on our dairy genetics, with the aim of advancing the rate of genetic gain on farm.

Farmers can apply via the Fonterra Farm Source website, with applications opening Wednesday, 8 July at 12pm and funding allocated on a first in, first served basis.

To qualify for the funding, farmers must meet three requirements during the Spring 2026/27 mating season:

  • More than 15 percent of your herd undergo genomic testing

  • More than 10 percent of your spring-mating herd are mated using sexed semen

  • Mean Breeding Worth (BW) of cows inseminated with sexed semen in your eligible herd is +30 above your herd’s mean BW

Farmers must also achieve any level of the Co-operative Difference to be eligible.

With just 200 slots available nationwide across genetics providers, spots will fill quickly. Consult your World Wide Sires breeding consultant to plan your mating season and ensure you meet the criteria before you apply.

You can find out more about the On-farm solutions reimbursement on the Fonterra Farm Source website.
