For Southland farmers Alister and Teegan Hall, Calf Renova by TechMix boluses have helped calves bounce back quicker.

Introduced to the supplement by their local World Wide Sires New Zealand rep, they took a chance and began to use it on their 460 heifer replacements.

“Our WWS rep, John Bonnatyne explained what it was all about and we felt it was something we could utilise well in our system.”

“We have used Calf Renova boluses for the past two seasons and are very impressed with the benefits of them.”

They praised Calf Renova boluses for how easy it was to administer.

“We blanket administer the boluses at 3 days of age to provide additional immunity where it is crucial. Calf Renova boluses are also great to use when transitioning calves from whole milk to milk powder and onto calf meal to help combat nutritional scour outbreaks.”

Upon using the boluses for the first time, they saw instant results with the health and vitality of their calves.

“They are also great at helping calves recover from existing scours.

“We noticed with the use of Calf Renova calves bounced back faster and didn’t lose as much appetite.”

Calf Renova quickly addresses enteric health issues for newborn calves and supports recovery by enhancing intestinal microflora.

Among feeding beneficial bacteria and helping to manage microbes in the gut, Calf Renova provides a powerful antioxidant, and is an alternative to antibiotics.

The Halls called it a staple in their calf rearing operations.

“From the past two years of rearing with them we have used minimal electrolytes, saving labour for calf rearing staff. Alongside aiding the health of our calves.”
